KURINUKI URNS

An urn holds the memories of a life once lived—the stories, the love and the traces that remain. Each urn is created as a quiet resting place for both ashes and memory. Hand-built using the Japanese kurinuki technique, it is slowly carved from a solid block of clay. The process leaves traces of hands and tools, making every vessel unique. Selected urns may be sealed with kintsugi, allowing a line of gold to honour the final transition.

An urn holds more than ashes. It becomes a vessel for memory, love and the traces of a life that continues to live within those who remain.

Each Kurinuki urn is handmade in my studio in Gentofte, Denmark. Beginning with a solid block of clay, I slowly carve and hollow the form, listening to the material and allowing the vessel to emerge. The process leaves visible marks, irregular surfaces and a quiet individuality — no two urns can ever be the same.

Rooted in Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi and the understanding that all things are impermanent, these ceramic urns offer a personal and tactile alternative to a traditional cremation urn. Once the ashes have been placed inside, selected urns can be permanently sealed with gold using the Japanese art of

Kintsugi — honouring the bond between what has been lost and what remains.
