Workshops
Explore traditional Japanese handbuilding techniques for yourself. Pinch, carve and hollow out the clay to make your own cup or tea bowl, leaving the marks of your hands in the finished piece.

Make something for the table, could be a plate, a bowl or a small serving dish. I’ll guide you through shaping the clay, with room for your own ideas and the marks you leave behind.

Build a vessel by hand, shaped around what you want it to hold. It might become a small urn or something with a purpose only you know. We’ll work slowly with form, surface and the space inside.

Start with a piece of clay and an idea — or see what happens when you begin without one. In this workshop, you’ll build a vase or sculpture by hand, with room to change direction as the form takes shape.
